Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf starrer The Sky Is Pink hit the screens yesterday and it has been receiving wide appreciation ever since. But looks like, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s latest release War is still holding strong at the box-office as Priyanka and Farhan starrer had a dull first day at the box-office. The film opened to poor numbers and made a business of Rs 2.50 crore on Day 1.
According to a report in Box Office India, the film had a poor opening on Day 1 as it has collected Rs 2.50 Crore net. Reportedly, the film did not grow much in the evening despite being a film for the evening audience in metro multiplexes. The Sky Is Pink’s first-day collection is far lower than PeeCee’s 2016 release Jai Gangaajal but is better than the last few releases of Farhan Akhtar.
SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film with 4.5 stars and wrote in his review, “Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar are two of the most distinguished actors that Indian cinema is gifted with. Surprisingly, we have praised a lot many other actors more than them in the volumes of pages we have written. Journos, are you listening? Let's admit that today. Shonali Bose, how well you imagined Priyanka as a mother when you wrote this story, which so evidently reflects the pain you've experienced and the brave fight you've continued in going on with your life.”
The stars have been relentlessly promoting the film since it got a world premiere at Toronto Film Festival 2 months back and since then there has been no looking back.
The Sky Is Pink has been Priyanka Chopra's comeback film after Gangaajal 2 that released 3 years back. Chopra was supposed to be seen opposite Salman Khan in Bharat but backed out last minute as her last-minute wedding dates clashed with her shoot schedule.
