For all those Ranbir Kapoor fans who are eagerly waiting to see him in
the Sanjay Dutt biopic, here’s some great news. According to reports online,
the trailer of Sanjay Dutt biopic film might release on May 8.
If reports in DNA are to be believed, Sanju is keen that the film’s trailer
comes out on May 8 because of emotional reasons. “Sanjay started his career
with Rocky, which released on May 8, 1981. Naturally, the date is very
important and memorable for him,” told a source to the leading daily.
Rocky is extremely close to Sanjay Dutt’s heart because it was not only his
debut film but was also directed by his father, late Sunil Dutt. However, they
didn’t share the screen space in the film.
Rocky is also memorable to Sanjay Dutt as the movie released just five days
after his mother, Nargis passed away (May 5). Reportedly, on the day of the
screening, they had left a seat vacant in the theatre in her memory at the
premiere of the film. Both, Sunil and Sanjay Dutt, are known to have broken
down when the latter appeared on the screen because the most important woman in
their lives had just passed away.

Ranbir Kapoor starrer has been pushed ahead. The biopic is running late by 4
months and will not release on March 30. The venture will now hit theatres in
August. “The Sanjay Dutt biopic is yet to be completed. Rajkumar Hirani is
making sure the film is as close to reality as possible since he is portraying
a complex life on-screen and is thus taking it slow. He knows he has a huge
responsibility,” a source informed SpotboyE.com.

Southern star Aditi Seiya will essay the role of Priya Dutt. The other
actresses who are a part of the untitled biopic are -- Sonam Kapoor, who will
play the role of the girl with whom Sanjay Dutt was once involved. Anushka
Sharma is playing a journalist, Karishma Tanna will portray one of the
actresses with whom Sanjay was linked to and Manisha Koirala will be seen as Nargis.
