The makers of Adipurush are currently busy gearing up for the release of the much-awaited magnum opus movie. Days after releasing the final trailer in a huge event, director Om Raut and actress Kriti Sanon visited the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati on Thursday. While saying goodbye, he pecked her on the cheek which left the netizens feeling uncomfortable. Their act of affection caught the attention of many even the head priest of Telangana's Chilkur Balaji Temple.

As soon as the video of the Om and Kriti’s interaction went viral on social media, many expressed their anger and displeasure of them not respecting the sanctity of the religious place. Talking about the same the priest has now called the viral video ‘condemnable’. As reported by Bollywood Life, he added, “Even a husband and wife do not go there (to the temple) together. You can go to a hotel room and do it. BJP State Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, Ramesh Naidu Nagothu too took to Twitter to express his opinions, in a now deleted tweet. He wrote, “Is it really necessary to bring your antics to a sacred place? Engage in public displays of affection, like kissing and hugging in front of the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala is deemed disrespectful and unacceptable.” ALSO READ: WHAT! An adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, Adipurush is directed by Om Raut. The movie stars Prabhas as Ayodhya Prince Raghava, Saif Ali Khan as demon king Lankesh, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Laxmana and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman among many others in the lead roles. It is produced by T- Series, Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles, Pramod and Vamsi of UV Creations. The magnum opus is slated to release on 16th June 2023 on the big screens in many languages.
