'Is Shabana Azmi Alive?' Javed Akhtar Reveals The First Thoughts That Crossed His Mind Post The Major Accident
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi got severely injured earlier this year as her car rammed into a truck. While she was heading for a mini-vacation with husband Javed Akhtar, her car met with an accident on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. She was immediately taken to the hospital and it took her a few days to recover. Now, recalling the incident, Javed Akhtar has shared the first thought that crossed his mind post the accident. The accident appeared to be so deadly that Javed Akhtar wasn't even sure if Shabana Azmi was alive or not. 

In an interview with Film Companion, Javed Akhtar was quoted saying, "Who could think we would have such a calamity. The accident that Shabana went through was really deadly. We were in the other car, she was sleeping in the car behind us and when this accident occurred and we went back, the first thought was ‘Is she alive?’ Because the whole car was crushed, had become a heap of junk. Somehow we took her out, she was unconscious with blood all over her face and it was only from the nose. There were no wounds but the whole body has taken such a whiplash, that it will take a little time to be totally normal."

Post the accident, Shabana Azmi's picture with blood smeared on her face went viral on social media. Once the actor recovered, she spoke about the viral pictures and revealed that her family was upset with it. Quite a few celebrities too had asked fans to not share her pictures on social media while extending their support to Akhtar family.
