Veteran actors Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra left the audiences stunned with their kissing scene in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. The unexpected scene came as a shock to many and left the netizens with mixed reactions. While some were trying to comprehend what had happened, others praised them for breaking the various stereotypes. Reacting to the response she has received from the fans about the lip-lock scene, the actress told Zoom TV, “I can't understand what the fuss is about. It's just a kiss!”

In her interview with the entertainment portal, she expressed that it was an entirely new experience for her as she has never received this kind of overwhelming response in her 55 years of career. She excitedly shared how the movie is being appreciated by the people who constantly look down on commercial cinema. Talking about her experience of shooting the kissing scene, she expressed how she never thought people would laugh and cheer for the older characters and their reunion. The actress, who essays the role of Jamini, Alia Bhatt’s grandmother, also opened up about her husband Javed Akhtar’s reaction to her on-screen kiss. She told the media publication that while he wasn’t bothered seeing his wife kiss on-screen, her “rowdy behaviour” is what bothered him. “I was applauding, whistling, cheering and shouting. He was like, ‘I don’t know this woman sitting next to me.’ I went insane with excitement,” she said.

Talking about the romantic-drama, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani follows the journey of Rocky Randhawa and Rani Chatterjee, who hail from contrasting family backgrounds. In order to get married they come up with a plan to stay with each others’ families so that they can get to know each other better. The movie marks the directorial comeback of Karan Johar and stars Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and many more in pivotal roles.
