Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, and Katrina Kaif made the headlines after they were spotted spending time together in Ayodhya during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir. Considering the history between RK Jr and Kat, the netizens had a field trolling the couples. However, days later, Alia and Vicky took to their official social media handles to announce their upcoming project ‘Love & War.’ A Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, the movie also stars Ranbir in the lead role. It is safe to say that the announcement has not gone down well with the fans.
Taking to their Instagram handles, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal shared the announcement poster calling their upcoming project an epic saga. Apart from announcing the main cast, the poster also stated that the movie will be released during Christmas 2025. While the actress posted that announcement with a red heart and fire emoji, Vicky wrote, “An eternal cinema dream has come true.” Fans and followers have taken to the comment section of the post to react. As fans rejoiced in the announcement of the upcoming project, others mocked the makers for their cast. Some expressed their disappointment by stating that the leading lady should have been someone different, others pointed out how the makers should have also cast Katrina Kaif in the film so that it would look like a double date. One wrote, “Katrina is only missing.” Another wrote, “Isiliye parso sath main hi baithe the.” One commented, “But why didn't he cast Katrina.. The project will mark the reunion between Ranbir and SLB after 17 years. For those who don’t remember, Bhasali launched Kapoor in Bollywod alongside Sonam Kapoor, with the film Saawariya. While Alia has worked with Sanjay Leela Bhasali for the movie Gangubai Kathiawadi, Love & War will mark Vicky and Bhansali’s first collaboration.
For the unversed, Ranbir and Katrina had dated for quite a few years before calling off their relationship. Today they are happily married to Alia and Vicky, who had shared the screen in Meghna Gulzar’s movie Raazi. Despite their past, the actresses share a very good relationship and are often seen supporting each other. It will truly be interesting to see how the movie pans out in the future as it has now become one of the most-anticipated releases for the upcoming year.
