18 Years Of Munna Bhai MBBS: Sanjay Dutt Says, ‘I Am Tired Of Requesting Rajkumar Hirani To Make ‘Munna Bhai 3’

Speak of the most loved films and Sanjay Dutt starrer 2003 release ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S’ surely tops the list for all obvious reasons. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the comedy-drama also featured Arshad Warsi, Gracy Singh, Boman Irani and Sunil Dutt in pivotal roles. Even after so many years, the movie is still loved by the masses, thanks to Sanju Baba’s brilliant performance. On 19th December, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S completed its glorious 18 years.
Not just fans are eagerly waiting for the third instalment of the franchise, Sanjay too can’t wait to start work on it. The actor recently attended 'Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav' at Ishwar Deshmukh College in Nagpur. Speaking at the event, Sanjay revealed that he has been tired of requesting Hirani to make ‘Munna Bhai 3.’ He appealed to Nagpur people to press him for making it. The Agneepath actor said, “I am tired of requesting Raju Hirani many times. Since he hails from Nagpur, I appeal to Nagpurians to press him for making Munnabhai franchise.”
On a related note, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. was a major critical and commercial success and was later followed by a second film ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, thus becoming the first instalment of the Munna Bhai film series. In 2019, Hirani revealed in an interview that production on the third Munna Bhai film will begin towards the end of 2020.
Earlier, talking about if Munna Bhai 3 is on the cards, Boman Irani, who played a pivotal role in both the series had told Bollywood Hungama, “I don't know if we should say this but there is news.
