Taapsee Pannu won big at the 66th Filmfare Awards, having bagged the award for the Best Actor In The Leading Role category for her role in Thappad. The award ceremony took place last night, and was attended by the who’s who of Bollywood such as Taapsee Pannu, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, and many others. It was a special night for Taapsee as she won the Best Actor award, and she was ecstatic! This morning, Taapsee took to her social media to share a special post, wherein she wrote that her film Thappad keeps leaving memories to cherish.
After the release of Thappad, directed by Anubhav Sinha, Taapsee Pannu had received a lot of appreciation for her performance in the film. She was seen playing the role of a homemaker, who is slapped by her husband at a house party, and chooses to fight against it and divorce her husband. Now, Taapsee Pannu took to her social media account to share a video of her walking up to the stage of the Filmfare Awards, and accepting the trophy.
The video shows her hugging the director Anubhav Sinha before making her way to the stage. Taapsee looks ecstatic to be receiving the award. Meanwhile, late actor Irrfan Khan won a posthumous award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for Angrezi Medium. He was also honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award and his son Babil accepted the awards on his father’s behalf.
