The teaser of 83 gives a glimpse of Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev
The wait is finally over! Teaser of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's highly anticipated film '83 dropped on Friday. The one-minute teaser will leave you wanting for more. In the teaser, we get a glimpse of Ranveer Singh who is playing the role of former cricketer Kapil Dev. The clip recreates the iconic moment in Indian cricket history, where India defeated West Indies to win their first-ever World Cup.
We also get a glimpse of Harrdy Sandhu and Jatin Sharma. Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Ranveer wrote, "The greatest Story. The greatest Glory. 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Teaser out now. Trailer out on 30th Nov. #ThisIs83." Deepika Padukone, who plays Kapil Dev's wife Romi Bhatia, also shared the teaser on her Instagram.
Reacting to it, Amruta Khanvilkar wrote, "Wow wow wow." Zoya Akhtar dropped a comment saying, "Woohoo!" Sara Ali Khan, who shared screen space with Ranveer in Simmba, dropped a bunch of fire emojis. Dia Mirza, Nikitin Dheer, Bhumi Pednekar, and Varun Sharma also loved the teaser. '83 was slated to release in April this year, but was pushed forward due to the coronavirus pandemic. Apart from Deepika, Ranveer, Harrdy, and Jatin, the movie also stars Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiva, Ammy Vrik, Pankaj Tripathi among others.
