A New Film On The Cards For Varun Dhawan And Shashank Khaitan?
Shashank Khaitan and Varun Dhawan made an announcement last year about doing a big budget movie named Rannbhoomi and their fans were looking forward to it- until it was speculated that it might have been shelved. But  that might not be entirely true.

Even earlier, Shashank Khaitan and Varun Dhawan had done two hit movies Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya produced by Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner. The same trio was to work in Rannbhoomi and the shooting was set to commence by 2019 and further release in Diwali 2020. The film got pushed and there were speculations of the movie being shelved.

Shashank Khaitan revealed to Pinkvilla that the script of Rannbhoomi is done. He said “Rannbhoomi script is done. The VFX and CG research is going on currently but there's no timeline to the film yet.” Not just Rannbhoomi, there was another project that was planned in the interim- a spy thriller. This spy thriller was also supposed to star Varun Dhawan. “That project is definitely not happening anymore”, adds Shashank Khaitan. "The second half of the spy thriller wasnt shaping up the way I had anticipated, and I felt if I have nothing new to say, I should not say it."

Shashank is also writing another film for Varun Dhawan along with Rannbhoomi. A source revealed that while it will be a commercial entertainer just like the Dulhaniya franchise, it won’t be the third part in the series. This untitled movie is currently being scripted and once that is finished, a call will be taken as to which film will roll first.

On the work front, Varun Dhawan is currently shooting for the filmStreet Dancer 3D which is the third part in the ABCD series along with co actors Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi and Prabhudeva.
