There are speculations that Jennifer Winget is the one who has been cast opposite Kartik Aryan. However, Anurag Basu, the director of the film reacted to the buzz around the ‘Beyhadh’ actress finalized. While speaking to India Forums, he was quoted saying, “Well, I’ve been also hearing about these rumors. However, honestly, we’re currently at a very nascent stage. We’re currently ideating about various other aspects of film-making. Casting will be locked later on.”

Kartik Aaryan seems to be excited to be a part of this classic franchise. Speaking to Variety, he told, “The timeless classic ‘Aashiqui’ is something I grew up watching, and working on ‘Aashiqui 3’ is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful for collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways.”
The ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ actor while announcing the film on his social media handles, wrote, “Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum #Aashiqui3 This one is going to be Heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da.”
Meanwhile, the 'Aashiqui' franchise has ruled every one heart since the 90s with its impeccable music. Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal starrer ‘Aashiqui’ was released in 1990 and was helmed by Mahesh Bhatt. ‘Aashiqui 2’ starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur was helmed by Mohit Suri. Both the films were loved by the masses and were hit at the box office.
