Even though he is the son of Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan has his share of struggle. The actor made his acting debut with Refuge and has been a part of many films since then. However, not all have been a hit. Some of his films did flop miserably and Abhishek Bachchan is not even averse to negative reviews. There was a time when he had a series of flops and wanted to quit acting. But a motivating speech from father Amitabh Bachchan stopped him from taking the step.

In an interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, Abhishek Bachchan revealed how he was criticised for his acting skills. "To fail on a public platform is very difficult. There was no social media back then, but I read via media that some were abusing me while some said that I do not know acting," he said. Further he added, "At one point in time, I felt it was my mistake that I came into the industry as whatsoever I was trying, it was not working. I went to my dad and said maybe I am not made for this industry."

Abhishek Bachchan then revealed the advice he received from his father Amitabh Bachchan. Sr Bachchan said, "I never brought you up to be quitter. Every morning you have to wake up and fight for your place under the sun. As an actor, you are improving with every film," as revealed by Junior Bachchan.

Now, Abhishek Bachchan takes the criticism coming his way with a pinch of salt. Recently, his film The Big Bull opened to rave reviews from the audience. He replied, "Hey man, as long as I’ve not disappointed you, I’m happy. Thank you for taking the time out to see our film."
