Actor Lilliput SLAMS Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Zero, Says SRK Shouldn’t Have Done The Film: ‘You Didn’t Show The Trauma And Tragedy Of A Dwarf’

Actor Lilliput, who has been a part of several shows and films including Dekh Bhai Dekh, Woh, Adaalat and others, isn’t very pleased with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero. Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s 2018 film zero, and he played Bauaa Singh, a dwarf in the film. It also starred Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Now, Lilliput has said that the film did not portray the emotional, psychological and social problems that dwarves go through.
He also added that Shah Rukh Khan shouldn’t have taken up the role of a dwarf, as there is nothing to act when playing a dwarf. While speaking to Bollywood Hungama, he said, “Even when I did not know the story of the film, my reaction was still that Shah Rukh Khan should not have done this film. A normal-looking person can still act as someone who is blind, doesn’t have a leg or an arm, is deaf or mute. He will have to act. What is there to ‘act’ when playing a dwarf? A dwarf speaks, walks, thinks like a normal person. Only his legs and arms are small or he has a distorted figure. But his wit and manner of speaking is no different.”
Slamming the film, he said, “When you decided to play a dwarf, you didn’t touch upon the emotional, psychological and social problems that dwarves go through. You didn’t show the trauma and tragedy of a dwarf.” Lilliput was of the view that Anushka Sharma played a woman with a far more tragic story than Shah Rukh Khan’s character.
He said that while Anushka’s character couldn’t speak or walk, Shah Rukh was seen jumping around and doing everything, with no problem whatsoever. Calling the script’ weird’, Lilliput added that Shah Rukh Khan wasn’t as convincing as a dwarf as he usually is, in his romantic roles.
