Sunny Leone’s Navratri Themed Condom Ad Causes A Furore In Gujarat
Sunny Leone’s latest condom commercial has offended Gujaratis. The actress is being trolled on social media and her billboard on Surat was targeted.
A billboard of a condom ad featuring Sunny Leone, has caused outrage in Surat, Gujarat. The ad for Manforce preaches safe sex during Navratris but the ad has misfired for the brand and the actress.
Sunny is the brand ambassador of the Indian condom brand, Manforce. According to a report in a leading daily, a city-based group organized a protest against the advertisement and demanded that the hoardings be removed. In fact, Narendra Chaudhary, the president of Hindu Yuva Vahini has gone on record and said: "The message in Gujarati on the hoarding reads 'Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu premthi' - Play but with love, this Navratri. The insinuation on the hoardings from a condom brand insults the religious sentiments of Hindus.”
Mr. Chaudhary didn’t just stop by accusing the brand but he also crossed the line by abusing the actress. During the interview, he even said that Sunny is corrupting Indian culture."This cannot be tolerated and our protests will get stronger if these hoardings are not removed immediately. Protests are necessary to deter others from trying something similar again in future," added Chaudhary.
