After Anushka Sharma-Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif To Turn Producer By Year End
After enthralling the viewers for more than 15 years, Katrina Kaif now is following in to the footsteps of her contemporaries, Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma. Actress will venture into production this year
After 15 years of entertaining and mesmerizing the viewers with her performances, Katrina Kaif is venturing into production. After impressing the audiences and the critics with her acting chops in her last few films like Zero and Tiger Zinda Hai, Kat feels it’s the right time to become a producer.
The actress who is currently busy with promotions of her upcoming flick Bharat, recently revealed to Pinkvilla that she will turn producer by the end of the year. The actress wanted to venture into production since a long time, and in fact had even purchased the rights to a French film, He Loves Me He Loves Me Not but that didn’t take off.
Now, it’s finally going to happen. Speaking to the portal, Kat says, “Yes, it's true. I plan to start my production house sometime towards the end of this year. I really hope to put my name as a producer to one of the projects I've been in discussions with. So let's see.”
Actresses like Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone have also ventured into production. Anushka’s debut production NH10 (2015) earned critical acclaim. She even starred in the film and then went on to produce and act in movies like Phillauri (2017) and Pari (2018). On the other hand, Deepika turned producer with Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak that also stars her in the lead role.
Speaking of Katrina’s forthcoming films, Bharat will see her opposite Salman Khan. The Ali Abbas Zafar film will release during Eid this year. Then, the trio will reunite for Tiger 3. Apart from this, Kat will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi alongside Akshay Kumar.
