Farhan Akhtar is one of the few celebrities who has been very active on social media. The actor uses his social media platforms to share his opinions on various matters and also gives a glimpse into his personal life. Speaking of that, recently, Farhan shared pictures on Instagram, in which he is seen performing Dhanteras pooja with his girlfriend Shibani Dandekar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Sharing the picture, Farhan wished everyone a 'Happy Diwali'.
As soon as he shared the picture, many started trolling the actor for celebrating Diwali. One of the followers commented, "You are Muslim... what are you doing?" Another wrote, "I think this is double standards." Whenever the actor gets trolled, he knows how to give it back to the haters.
This time, the Akhtar family is reportedly planning to take legal action. As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the family informed Subhash K Jha, "We believe in the oneness of all Gods. Farhan's father is Muslim. His mother is Parsi and she celebrates Diwali every year for as long as she can remember. For Farhan celebrating Diwali comes as naturally as celebrating Eid. Where did the trolls come in?" It added, "Javed Saab (Farhan's father Javed Akhtar) feels letting go of the hate-filled comments is playing into their hands. At the same time he also feels that giving the haters and abusers attention is doing what they want. Normally the family ignores online abuse. But this time the hate quotient is way too excessive to be set aside."
