Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s father-in-law, Rajan Nanda, passed away in Delhi, last night. Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan arrived in Delhi this morning to pay their last respects and attend the last rites of Mr Nanda.
Earlier this morning, Rajan Nanda, who was Raj Kapoor’s son-in-law, was declared brain dead at a hospital in Gurgaon.
Rishi Kapoor’s daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni took to social media to confirm the news. She posted a picture of Rajan Nanda with the unfortunate news, “You were are & will always remain a legend! Thank you for all the love always - will miss you so much uncle - until we meet again RIP uncle Rajan”
After hearing the news of his demise, Amitabh Bachchan, who was in Bulgaria for the shoot of his film, Brahmastra, immediately departed for India. While leaving for home from Bulgaria, Amitabh Bachchan posted on his blog, “My relative Mr Rajan Nanda, Nikhil’s Father, Father-in-Law of Shweta, .. just passed away .. leaving for India ..” He further wrote, “Yes, the personal tragedy is now in discloser and transmitted… but it had a lead… a lead of distress and anxiety and apprehension from a time of some immediate length… the obvious nested facts were not pressed into the print of this page, but there were hidden hints of them in it. My hidden heart can bleed within… unseen… but it takes not away the pain of its emission.”
Rishi Kapoor’s sister, Ritu Nanda is Rajan Nanda's wife and Shweta Bachchan is married to his son, Nikhil Nanda. He was the Chairman and Managing Director of renowned engineering company, Escorts Limited.
