Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar Stand By Centre And Promote #IndiaTogether, After Rihanna Calls Support Towards Farmer’s Protest
Bollywood celebrities Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar join Centre’s call to stand united against ‘propaganda’ against the country’s policies. This comes a day after International singer Rihanna called for support towards Farmer’s protest. On Tuesday, Rihanna made a tweet, reacting to the farmer’s protest. The singer asked why everyone worldwide is not talking about it. After international celebrities like Rihanna and Greta Thunberg called for support towards the farmer’s protest, Hindi film industry celebrities took to their respective social media platforms to stand by the Centre.

On Twitter, Akshay Kumar shared a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs, “Farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences.” The statement released by the MEA said that celebrities should refrain from commenting on the issues and try to get a “proper understanding of the issues”. An excerpt from the statement by the MEA read, “Before rushing to comment on such matters, we would urge that the facts be ascertained, and a proper understanding of the issues at hand be undertaken. The temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible.”
