Akshay Kumar Says Son Aarav Feared Vidya Balan For Six Years After Watching Bhool Bhulaiyaa

During the promotions of his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla, Akshay Kumar shared an interesting personal anecdote about his son Aarav and how deeply he was प्रभावित by the 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The actor spoke about the difference between his new film and the earlier hit, while also recalling how Aarav reacted after watching the psychological thriller.

Explaining the contrast between the two films, Akshay said, “Bhoot Bangla is a horror fantasy; it’s like a Disney movie. Bhool Bhulaiyaa was a psychological thriller. When it starts, you can see she is possessed, and later learn that it’s a mental problem. In Bhoot Bangla, we have explained how Vadhusur came in and why he is doing what he is. The film is meant for children, also.”

He then revealed how his son Aarav had an intense reaction to Vidya Balan’s portrayal of Manjulika in the film. According to Akshay, the performance left such a strong impression that it affected Aarav for years.

Recalling the incident, he said, “I was talking to my son, and he told me, when he saw Bhool Bhulaiyaa for the first time, he was scared of Vidya Balan for six years.” He further added that whenever the actress visited their home, Aarav would avoid her completely. “He refused to meet her, didn’t look into her eyes; he could see Manjulika in her. He had developed a problem with her.”

Akshay also shared that he had to patiently reassure his son and help him understand that Vidya was just an actor playing a role. He explained to Aarav that she was not Manjulika in real life but a kind person. However, despite his efforts, the fear lingered for a long time before eventually fading away.
