Recently, a TV actress filed a case against Ayush Tewari at Mumbai's Versova Police station under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code. As per online reports, the TV actress has accused Tewari of raping her on the pretext of marriage. Earlier, Ayush Tewari was linked to Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom. But a while back, film’s Casting director Vaibhav Vishant denied his link to the film. Vaibhav released an official statement and said these associations tarnish the film's image due to false and unverified allegations.
A part of Vaibhav’s official statement read, "It is distressing to see the film and the names of others associated with the film being tarnished with false and unverified allegations. I am the casting director of Bell Bottom. The individual Ayush Tewari was a freelancer intern in my company and has nothing to do with the film or its casting. He has not worked on Bellbottom in any capacity."
He went on to urge the media to not link Bell Bottom to the entire case. His statement read further, "It is extremely upsetting to see that some publications in order to get a clickbait headline will go to any lengths to put out uncorroborated and unsubstantiated information. This individual Ayush Tewari has nothing to do with Bell Bottom. I hope the police will conduct a fair investigation and justice will be served. However, I will request media publications to correct the facts and stop linking Bellbottom to this case.”
Versova's senior police inspector Raghvendra Thakur told news agency IANS, “An actress has accused her boyfriend of two years, of rape. It was under the pretext of marriage. We have registered FIR against the accused under Indian Penal Code Section 376.” (ALSO READ: Bell Bottom: Akshay Kumar And Vaani Kapoor Bid Goodbye To The Country As They Wrap Scotland Schedule And Say Hello To London)
