Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have become one of the most-discussed Bollywood celebrity couples on the internet. While fans often go gaga over their media appearances, it is the actresses’ revelations about her husband during interviews that makes the netizens raise their eyebrows. Some have even gone as far as to criticise him for his ‘toxic mentality’ and ‘misogynistic behaviour.’ Amid all this, the actress’ mother recently shared her views on cancel culture.

Veteran actress Soni Razdan took to her Instagram story on Saturday and wrote a cryptic note about cancel culture and how people are quick to discuss things about others’ lives. Quoted by Indian Express, she wrote, “What’s seeming increasingly idiotic: Cancel culture. People deciding for other people what is wrong with their lives and then everyone jumping into some discussion or the other about things that actually have nothing to do with them! For the unversed, ever since getting married, both the actors have been under constant scrutiny for the relationship that they share. A few days ago, Alia had made the headlines when she revealed that her husband, then boyfriend, never liked her wearing lipsticks as he loves the shade of her natural lips. She had gone to share that he tells her to wipe off the lipstick every time they go out. This had caused a lot of alarm in front of the netizens as they termed the 40-year-old actor a red flag. The lipstick controversy opened up a flood gate, as instances of Ranbir being rude and disrespecting towards not only Alia, but also his other female co-stars started doing rounds on the internet. They tied the knot in April 2022 in an intimate ceremony in the presence of their close friends and family. They announced their first pregnancy in June 2022 and welcomed their baby daughter Raha in November 2022. 

On the work front, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Karan Johar’s comeback movie Rani Aur Rocky Ki Prem Kahani and Heart Of Stone. She has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra franchise and Farhan Akhtar’s directorial Jee Le Zara alongside Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra Jonas in her pipeline. On the other hand, Ranbir will be next seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal.
