Today when the film has beaten Queen and Mary Kom in lifetime collections, the time is right to tell you that Sonam didn't have a cakewalk in landing this role.

Co-producers of the film, Fox Star Studios, wanted Alia to star in the lead role--- but the celebrity photographer Atul Kasbekar who had taken the film to them was convinced that Sonam would be the right choice.
So there were those usual meetings, before it was finally decided that it will be Sonam and nobody else.

Buzz is, Kasbekar and his team believed that Sonam who is taller than Alia would suit the part better. Sonam is at least 5 inches taller than Alia.
The rest, as they say, is history.
