Amaal Mallik replaces Pritam in Emraan Hashmi’s Azhar

Pritam, who was signed on as the composer for Ekta Kapoor’s production Azhar, has lost out on the project. Reason – the music director couldn’t adhere to the deadline due to his poor health.
Now, SpotboyE has it that Amaal Mallik of Hero fame has been roped in for the Emraan Hashmi starrer. We hear, he was signed on sometime last week and has already composed 2 romantic tracks for the biopic.
When contacted, Pritam’s spokesperson confirmed the news saying, “Pritam lost out on almost 3 weeks when he was hospitalised in February and as a result, couldn’t complete the soundtrack for Azhar. Since the film is releasing in May, Ekta could not afford any kind of delay.”
Since Ekta and the hitmaker go a long way back, the producer has requested Pritam to compose one song for Azhar.
The biopic on former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin also stars Nargis Fakhri and Prachi Desai.
