Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan enjoys a huge fan following on social media. The actor often takes to his official handles to share anecdotes from his life, health updates and takes on ongoing matters. It was on April 11th, that the CEO of Twitter Elon Musk had announced that Twitter users would lose their blue tick verification marks from April 20. As it came into effect, many Indian celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan too lost their blue tick.

While many took to the micro-blogging website to share their dismay, Bachchan too requested his blue tick back with a hilarious tweet. Addressing Twitter as ‘bhaiya,’ the actor in Hindi expressed that he has paid for the blue tick. He requested them to get it back before his name so that people know it is the real him. For the unversed, it was on Thursday that Twitter had removed the verified blue tick marks from all twitter users’ names. The only one who would retain the ticks would be individuals that have paid for Twitter Blue, a monthly subscription of ₹650-700. Celebrities like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, comedian Vir Das, Ravi Kishan, Nargis Fakhri, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Beyoncé, Pope Francis, Oprah Winfrey, and former US President Donald Trump have lost their blue ticks on Twitter.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan has a list of exciting projects ahead of him. He will be seen in movies like Project K and the official remake of the hit Hollywood movie The Intern.
