Amitabh Bachchan’s Granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda Exclaims ‘WTF’ On Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat’s Objectionable Comment On ‘Women Wearing Ripped Jeans’
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda who is also the founder of Project Naveli that talks about gender inequality and social issues related to women is furious with Tirath Singh Rawat, the newly sworn-in Chief Minister of Uttarakhand’s recent comment. The star kid took to her Instagram stories and expressed her anger against the CM’s ‘mentality.’ For the uninitiated, on Tuesday at a workshop organised by the Uttarakhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in Dehradun, Tirath made a controversial comment regarding women by saying women wearing ripped jeans paves the way for societal breakdown and is a result of the ‘bad example’ that parents set for their children.

This angered a certain section on social media who then bashed him for the same. Well, this time Navya was seen commenting on Tirath’s comment as she first exclaimed ‘WTF!’ Further she wrote, “Change your mentality before changing our clothes :) because the only shocking here is the message comments like this send to society. Just (followed by frustrating emoticons).” As reported by Times of India, Tirath’s statement read, “If this kind of woman goes out in the society to meet people and solve their problems, what kind of message are we giving out to the society, to our kids? It all starts at home. What we do, our kids follow,” he said. “A child who is taught the right culture at home, no matter how modern he becomes, will never fail in life,” he added.

“Showing bare knees, wearing ripped denim and looking like rich kids — these are the values being given now,” he further added. Rawat also said that as people from the West are accepting ‘yoga’ and ‘covering their bodies’ here, ‘we are running towards nudity.’
