Kabir Khan directorial '83 has been in news ever since its announcement. The much-anticipated sports drama has been delayed not once but twice. It was first set to release on April 10 in 2020, then the makers booked June 4 2021 as the release date but unfortunately, it got pushed again because of the second wave of the Covid- 19 crisis. However, actor Ammy Virk believes the wait is worth it.
"This was going to happen somewhere sometime and also it is going to come someday so there is no worry. The film is going to be good so there is no problem," says Ammy, who will be seen essaying the role of Balvinder Singh Sandhu in the film.
He continues, "There has been a lot of hard work put in the film, the cast, Kabir as a director, Ranveer, the whole production team has given their best. All the 14 and the original players of the team during the World Cup, each and every person has given their time to this movie. Also, Balu Sir whose character I am playing has guided the team and has given all the coaching to the team so a lot of work in a positive way has been done. So I hope that the release will also be done in a good way and that’s what we all are expecting and hoping for."
Balwinder has trained Ranveer and other cast members for the film. Ask the actor if he is nervous playing the ace personality onscreen to which he replies, "No, he was with me throughout. Balu sir was us during the shoots, he used to be very happy and basically, he was the middle man of the team. Like among the 14 players he was the main person and everyone had told us that whatever Balu Sir tells you can keep in the film like from A to Z everything. Whatever stories, incidents he knew he used to tell and that’s why it took 3 to 4 years to work on the script. So for me, that was a little bit easy. Basically, it's like the film is based on the legend so you cannot play with their character so it is made with very minute care and in a very positive way also."
Well since the film has been delayed multiple times probe Ammy to reveal the release date to which he quips, "You would be knowing it more because you are connected with the film industry more than me."(laughs). However, on a serious note, he says, "Most probably how much I know is that it is going to be this Christmas other than that I don’t know anything."
As per the latest reports ace cricketer, Kapil Dev will also join the team to promote the film. The movie also features Ranveer Singh, R Badree, Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk, and Saahil Khattar, Saqib Saleem as the Men in Blue. The sports drama also has Deepika Padukone opposite Ranveer.
