A few months back, Sanjay Kapoor was massively trolled for posting an inappropriate comment on Ananya Panday’s picture, where she was dressed for the Elle Awards 2019. Both of them remained mum on it for the longest time. But finally, while talking to SpotboyE.com recently, Ananya spoke on the controversy
In a time when everyone, especially celebrities, refrain from passing dicey comments on social media which may hurt people’s sentiments, Sanjay Kapoor ended up posting a comment on his daughter Shanaya Kapoor’s bestie and actor Ananya Panday. This happened on Oct 5.
Ananya was ready to go for Elle Awards 2019, and before the event, like always, she posted pictures after getting ready. On one of the pictures, Sanjay commented, "The dress is going to fall be careful @ananyapanday.” This did not go down well with netizens who then massively trolled him for it and called his statement, “insensitive” and "disturbing." It’s been almost 2.5 months now but neither Ananya nor Sanjay spoke about the controversy or reacted to it. However, yesterday, when we met Ananya for an chat, the Pati, Patni Aur Woh actress finally shared her opinion on it. “I didn’t want to add to it and get unnecessary attention. Sanjay uncle is Shanaya’s father for me, and of course, he was joking about it. People take out wrong meaning in anything and everything. If I spoke about it, it would have blown even further. I don’t believe in spreading negativity by reacting to trolls. His intention was surely not wrong and he did not mean it in a negative way,” Ananya told us.
