Anil Kapoor avoids glare of publicity at 'Make in India' blaze
At the blazing inferno which broke out at the ‘Make in India’ event at Girgaum Chowpatty yesterday, unbeknownst to many, there was one top actor who kept his cool and avoided any form of publicity.

And that’s Anil Kapoor, who was to go on stage to represent the forever-young spirit of Mumbai. In a segment hosted by Shreyas Talpade and Isha Koppilkar, the Dil Dhadakne Do award-winner was to speak about the city and support the ‘Make in India’ initiative, besides performing a few steps to the tune of a Ram Lakhan song, ending with a riff from Dil Dhadakne Do.

When the fire broke out, Anil was sighted with Aamir Khan backstage, waiting for their separate cues to go on stage.

The cultural programme was stalled, as the media has reported. Amitabh Bachchan who had completed his appearance on stage, went on to give a statement about the show which was controlled mercifully. No serious injuries were reported.

While Bachchan, Aamir Khan and even Viveik Oberoi have been splashed all over the media, Anil Kapoor’s presence has gone uncovered. Like Mr India, he kept an invisible profile.

Efforts to contact Anil were in vain throughout the evening. On being sent an sms this morning to double check whether he was at the venue, he reverted, “Yes, I was there. There was tension…I am thankful that the situation was brought under control by the authorities and fire brigade in time. I would like to express my gratitude to them.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shoud be congratulated for handling the situation in a calm n composed manner.”
