Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan’s debut film postponed; goes back to the edit

National Award-winning filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s long-in-the-making Mirziya, which will mark the arrival of yet-another industry kid Harshvardhan Kapoor (Anil Kapoor’s son) has been further delayed.

The film was pegged to release sometime around February but was postponed to May. Now, it’s finally revealed that the film won’t open in theatres until October 7. Mehra took to Twitter to announce the release date:

When we dug up on this information further, it emerged that the film has been going through a few edit-related hassles as the maverick director of Rang De Basanti isn’t too satisfied with the initial cut.

A source privy to the details told SpotboyE that since the film is set in two wildly different eras, the editing needs to be crisper and seamless.

“Right now, the film looks stunning aesthetically, but it was felt that there’s still a lot of work to be done to tie the narrative nicely. This is the reason why the makers decided to push it by a few more months,” the source said.

Other than Harshvardhan Kapoor, the film will also mark the debut of Tanvi Azmi’s niece Saiyami Kher and the launch of businessman Anand Mahindra’s production house, Cinestaan Film Company.
