Singer Ankit Tiwari, who made headlines after he was accused of alleged rape by his then-girlfriend, breathed a sigh of relief after the court cleared him of all charges in 2017. In a recent interview, Ankit has opened up about how his life changed after he was acquitted of rape charges. The singer also talked about how his career was immensely affected by this as people stopped working with him and started removing him from projects for no reason. 

In an interview with Navbharat Times Online, the ‘Galliyan’ singer poured out his heart and revealed that his rising career in Bollywood came at a back seat. “People stopped working together, pulled their hands back. Without giving any reason, they withdrew me from many projects. Most of my work which was in the finishing stage was also closed. I lost so much. But that doesn't mean I gave up. I have been doing something. This year also my film 'Badhaai Do' came out. There are some other projects too," Ankit was quoted saying. The singer also mentioned that during such testing times, very few people stand with you. Ankit said during that time some of his friends from the industry were with him. 

For the unversed, in 2014 Ankit Tiwari was accused of alleged rape by his then-girlfriend and was also arrested. His brother Ankur Tiwari was also arrested in the rape case registered against them by a 28-year-old woman. In her complaint, the woman had alleged that the singer had raped her several times on the false pretext of marrying her.

However, In April 2017, the Mumbai sessions court acquitted Ankit Tiwari and his brother of all charges, due to lack of evidence to prove the accusations against them.
