Anupam Kher REACTS to Kangana Ranaut Getting TROLLED Over Her 'Muslim Actresses' Tweet: ‘Religion Ke Wajah Se Koi Film Dekhne Nahi Jaata’
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut recently received severe criticism over her tweet where she stated India has only loved Khans and is obsessed with Muslim actresses. Her tweet read, “This country has only and only loved all Khans and at times only and only Khans…And obsessed over Muslim actresses, so it’s very unfair to accuse India of hate and fascism … there is no country like Bharat in the whole world.” She faced backlash over her remarks. Now, Anupam Kher in a new interview has shared his opinions on Ranaut’s tweet.

Speaking with DNA, the veteran actor said, “I think art has its own place, and religion has its own place. Religion ke wajah se koi film dekhne nahi jaata hai, art ke wajah se hi film dekhne jaate hain (People don't go to watch the film based on religion, but based on art). You don't go to mandir, masjid or gurudawara after watching a film. You go because you have faith in your religion. You have all the right to present your faith, but I don't think anybody decides to say like that.” ALSO READ: Kangana Ranaut CONFIRMED Sidharth Malhotra-Kiara Advani's Wedding? While defending Ranaut, the Kashmir Files actor called the actress a 'brave actor' and said if we applaud woman empowerment, we should defiantly celebrate the success of Kangana. Talking about her tweet, Kher was quoted saying, “Like everybody has freedom of speech, why shouldn't we give her the freedom of speech?.”

Kangana and Anupam will be seen together in the upcoming film Emergency, which marks Ranaut’s directorial debut and will see her in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
