Anurag Kashyap Restarts Doga
Anurag Kashyap has started working on the script of his superhero film Doga from scratch. The filmmaker is simultaneously working with Nawazuddin Siddiqui on Psycho Raman, which is a biopic of serial killer Raman Raghav who had terrorised Mumbai in the 1960s.

"Anurag has started working on Doga all over again. Major political changes have happened in India and as a people, our current issues are different. So, alterations will have to be made in the story accordingly. Especially, the circumstances that lead to the climax will have to be altered. Anurag is seriously at it and this could well be his next after Psycho Raman," says a source close to the director.

Doga is based on a comic book character of the same name. The name originates from the fact that the superhero uses a dog mask to conceal his identity. The character first appeared in Raj Comics in 1992.

The rights to the comics and the character were bought by Madhu Mantena in mid-2014 and the film was lined up after Bombay Velvet, which was under production at that time.

Back then, the role was supposed to be played by Kunal Kapoor. However, we now hear that another actor will be roped in. "Anurag wants a younger and a more saleable name on board," says our source.

Less than a month ago, when we had contacted Kunal for some clarity on the film, he had said, "I don't think that film is getting made. I don't know the current status."
