Taapsee-Bhumi Womaniya Update: Anurag Kashyap Refuses To Pay Extortion Sum To Pritish Nandy
Director Anurag Kashyap was all set to begin with his next project, that was earlier titled “Womaniya”. But even before the film went on floors it faced some trouble all thanks to filmmaker Pritish Nandy. The film was stuck due to monetary issues over the title “Womaniya” between these two filmmakers. Anurag Kashyap who holds the copyright of the term “Womaniya” from his film Gangs of Wasseypur failed to register the name for his upcoming film's title since the title has been already registered under Pritish Nandy Communications Ltd.

However, the actress of Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap shared that the film has officially begun shooting. Taapsee posted a picture from the sets with Bhumi Pednekar, Anurag Kashyap, Tushar Hiranandani. And she wrote, "Kabhi humaari picture shelve karva dete hai kabhi title ki maara maari, maine socha main Khud hi picture announce kar deti hu through my PERSONAL MEDIANET ab jisko jo ukhaadna hai ukhaad lo ! Kickstarting the shoot of our country’s oldest and coolest shooters #Chandro #Prakashi.”
Taapsee’s caption ignited the controversy.

Anurag Kashyap then took to Twitter and publicly slammed Pritish Nandy as he openly wrote about the struggle over the film's title. He wrote, "So we have decided to not pay the extortion sum of 1 crore to @PritishNandy. He can sit on the title and warm it and hope for it to hatch into something worthwhile for his company for once.”

What does Mr Nandy have to say to this, we wonder!
