As Sholay Completes 46 Years, Veeru Aka Dharmendra Says He Was ‘The Only Bad Actor Amongst A Talented Team Of Great Artists’; Fans Strongly Disagree
One of the iconic films of Indian cinema, Sholay completed 46 years of its release on Independence Day, August 15. Forty-six years back, director Ramesh Sippy gave Hindi cinema the best friendship - Jai and Veeru, the best villain - Gabbar Singh, best dialogues - ‘ye haath mujhe de de thakur’. Overall, the filmmaker gave us the best film ever. Fans still use their dialogues and use Jai-Veeru’s friendship as examples. After the film achieved this milestone, Ramesh dropped a BTS picture where we see the cast - Sanjeev Kumar, Amjad Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Dharmendra posing for the photo.

Sharing the picture on Twitter, Sippy wrote, “#Sholay completes 46 years today. Time has flown by so quickly. 46 years of unbelievable experience of working with such a great star cast &the entire team. Congratulating @SrBachchan, @aapkadharam, @dreamgirlhema, #JayaBachchan, @Javedakhtarjadu, #JagdeepJi, #SanjeevKumar, #AmjadKhan” Replying to his tweet, Dharmendra who essayed the role of Veeru said he was ‘the only bad actor amongst the talented team of great artists’. According to him, the film was a picnic for him and enjoyed in Dharam way.

“Rameh, congratulations captain on the completion of  46 years of Sholay. it is you Ramesh, who made Sholay shakaar e Aazam . Sholay is forever. I think I was the only bad actor amongst your talented team of great Artist.  To me it was just a picnic and I enjoyed it Dharam way,” he tweeted. However, after Dharmendra shared his views, his fans strongly disagreed to this.

A fan commented, “Paaji pranam..aap bad actor . Tab Veeru ka role kaun karta. Veeru ka role..aapse behtar koi nahi kar sakta tha. Aapke mann mein..thakur ka role karne ki khwahish thee..par aapne Veeru ka role..poore dil se nibhaya. Aap film Sholay ka jaroori hissa thae. Love you paaji”  Another one said, “Absolutely NO. Paaji you were know for effortless acting I mean subtle and camera friendly Personality”

Sholay starred megastar Amitabh Bachchan as Jai, Veeru's best friend.
