Bangladeshi-Swedish author and activist Taslima Nasreen is known to express herself on Twitter. She often shares her thoughts on various aspects and recently she expressed her views on the practice of surrogacy. While slamming the process of surrogacy, Nasreen questioned the feelings of women who opt for embracing motherhood via surrogacy. In a series of her tweets, she said if someone badly needs to raise a child, they should adopt a homeless child instead of going for surrogacy.

Taslima’s post on surrogacy has received mixed from netizens. While some users opined that it is the choice of the individual, others blast Nasreen for her extremely insensitive post on surrogacy. A certain section of users felt that the author took a dig at Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. The couple recently announced welcoming their first baby via a surrogate mother.

Taslima Nasreen tweeted, “Surrogacy is possible because there are poor women. Rich people always want the existence of poverty in the society for their own interests. If you badly need to raise a child, adopt a homeless one. Children must inherit your traits - it is just a selfish narcissistic ego.” She added, “How do those mothers feel when they get their readymade babies through surrogacy? Do they have the same feelings for the babies like the mothers who give birth to the babies?”







Taslima Nasreen’s views on the subject have stirred up quite a storm on Twitter. Meanwhile, Taslima also clarified that her tweets on surrogacy have nothing to do with Priyanka and Nick. Her tweet read, “My surrogacy tweets are about my different opinions on surrogacy. Nothing to do with Priyanka-Nick.
