Ayushmann Khurrana is on a roll and when it comes to choosing films, he is always a notch ahead. This time the talented actor has chosen homosexuality as the subject of his next. The film is a second part to his hit film, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan with Bhumi Pednekar which hit screens in 2017. Ayushmann will be reuniting with Aanand L Rai for this project which is cheekily titled as Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. The film is being directed by Hitesh Kewalya.

While the first instalment, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan addressed the taboo subject of erectile dysfunction in the most light-hearted manner, the second instalment delves into the subject of homosexuality. While more details remain unknown at this juncture, casting is underway and the film is scheduled to release early next year.

Talking about the film, which Ayushmann addresses as an “out and out entertainer”, the actor added in a statement, “It is a beautiful story told in the quintessential Aanand L. Rai style of filmmaking that will touch your hearts and leave a smile on your face. It is one of the most brilliant films that I have read in a long time and it handles the subject of homosexuality really sensitively. It is a pleasure to collaborate again with the master storyteller of our times. It is an out and out entertaining film that will also make you think and that’s the hallmark of good cinema,”

Meanwhile Aanand L Rai expressed how the success of Shubh Mangal Savdhaan encouraged them to address more subjects which are considered to be a taboo in the society and turn this into a franchise. He also added that there was no one better than Ayushmann for the role, “With ...Zyada Saavdhan, we have a great story in hand and who better, but Ayushmann to play the lead since he brings a whole new level of expression to the table. Hope audiences enjoy it as much as the first film.”
