B-town roots for Shyam Benegal’s revamp of CBFC
Two days after Shyam Benegal was appointed to lead the panel for the revamp of CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification), Bollywood has come out in support of the decision. Madhur Bhandarkar, Rahul Dholakia, Anupam Kher and others took to Twitter to hail the recent move by the government.

Bhandarkar, who has given us films like Fashion and Heroine in the past, tweeted:

Benegal, who has given us gems like Ankur, Manthan and Bhumika among others, has been brought in to bring about changes in the Cinematograph Act (1952) and recommend a holistic framework for the Censor Board. This move has come after the Pahlaj Nihalani-led Censor Board has been plagued with controversies.
