Film actress Shakila, best known for her roles in Guru
Dutt's films: Aar Paar (1954) and C.I.D. (1956) has left for her heavenly
abode.
She passed away on Sep 20 after suffering a massive
cardiac arrest.
Shakila starred in the famous song, Babuji Dheere Chalna
and won a number of hearts with her performance.

She also worked with Shammi Kapoor in Shakti Samanta's
China Town (1962). Shakila worked in films like Post Box 999. She retired from
cinema in 1963 when she married and decided to move to the United Kingdom with
her husband who was not from the film industry.
She had a daughter with him named Meenaz, who died in
1991. Shakila's sister Noor (short for Noorjehan) was married to famous
comedian, Johnny Walker.
