Bhumika Chawla Recalls Being REPLACED By Kareena Kapoor Khan In Jab We Met; Says, ‘I Felt Bad When It Didn't Happen, But It’s Okay’
Actress Bhumika Chawla has made a name for herself in the Bollywood and south entertainment industries with her acting chops. She made her blockbuster acting debut with Salman Khan’s Tere Naam, which instantly made her a household name. However, she soon became just another name in the film industry after she starred in movies like Run, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa, and Silsiilay that weren’t that known by the audience. During a recent interaction, she spoke about how she missed out on good movie opportunities.

In her interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, she spoke about how she was replaced in movies like Jab We Met and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. The 44-year-old actress revealed how she felt bad at the time. She recalled how she had signed the Imtiaz Ali directorial and was supposed to star in it alongside Bobby Deol. However, the production changed.

It was then decided that Shahid Kapoor would star in the movie alongside her, “then Shahid and Ayesha (Takia), and then Shahid and Kareena (Kapoor Khan). That’s how things happened but it’s okay.”

Bhumika further added that she had also signed the Rajkumar Hirani directorial, but was removed from the movie overnight without telling her the reason. Quoted by India Times, she said, “I had signed Munna Bhai MBBS but it didn’t happen. Only Raju sir (director Rajkumar Hirani) can tell more about this. He told me the reason after 10-12 years when we met at a place. He said, 'Because of somebody’s mistake you were removed from the film'. But it's okay. This also happens here.”

On the work front, having established herself as a credible actress Bhumika Chawla was last seen in Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. She played the role of Pooja Hegde’s sister-in-law in the Farhad Samji directorial.
