A B summary report is typically filed when there's insufficient evidence or no apparent case against the accused. It's also employed by police in instances of false allegations. Once the court accepts this report, it results in the exoneration of the accused. However, in this situation, the Bombay High Court dismissed the closure report filed by the police against Bhushan Kumar in April 2022. The court expressed concerns that "various legal aspects have been compromised" during the investigation. Media reports highlighted that an FIR was filed against Bhushan Kumar in July 2021 by DN Nagar police in Mumbai under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to rape and cheating. The complaint alleged that Bhushan Kumar purportedly raped a woman, promising her a job at his company. Subsequently, the victim later clarified that her accusations against Bhushan Kumar were due to a "misunderstanding based on circumstances" and decided to retract them.

Bhushan Kumar is the son of the late music tycoon Gulshan Kumar, is married to actor-producer Divya Khosla Kumar, and together they have a son named Ruhaan Kumar. T-Series stands as a prominent music record label and film production company established by Gulshan Kumar, renowned as the 'Cassette King'. Tragically, Gulshan Kumar was fatally shot in 1997 in Andheri.
