Bipasha Basu Pens A Heartfelt Note On Completing 20 Years In Showbiz With Ajnabee
As her debut film with Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ajnabee, clocked in on 20 years yesterday, Bipasha Basu penned an emotional note tracing back her beautiful journey in showbiz
It was on September 21, 2001 that a new and gorgeous talent by the name of Bipasha Basu appeared on the Indian big screen for the first time with the thriller Ajnabee. Yesterday marked 20 years to that day and that talent is still ruling the hearts of many with her beauty and skill. Abbas-Mustan’s Ajnabee marked Bipasha’s Bollywood debut alongside talents like Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bobby Deol, and even amongst them, the actress was able to leave her indelible mark.
To celebrate that feat, yesterday Bipasha took to her Instagram to reminisce about the day that introduced her to this industry. She penned an emotional note writing, “This is the first day when the audiences welcomed me into their hearts, 20 years back … my first film, #ajnabee released on 21st September 2001.”
She further iterated how the time has passed in a blur. “It doesn’t feel like so much time has passed, as the love that I get from my fans, well-wishers, the film fraternity and the media is still so strong. I am grateful for this love forever. #ajnabee will be special to me forever,” she reiterated.
She also went ahead to thank the entire team on the film that made her first film experience special. “I am thankful for my directors Abbas Bhai and Mustan Bhai, producer Vijay Galani, all my co actors—@akshaykumar @iambobbydeol @kareenakapoorkhan, my first ever team (@rockystarofficial @hairbyykaushall and Anil Dada)… and the entire unit. It’s been a beautiful journey from then to now. I am truly blessed #20yearsofajnabee,” she gushed.
After sharing that heartfelt note, Bipasha went on a throwback spree by sharing the video of the song Mehbooba Mehbooba, saying “Mehbooba Mehbooba from #ajnabee. My first hit dance number,” followed by the clip of her introduction shot from the film that also featured Bobby.
Meanwhile, it’s been six years since Bipasha’s last film Alone, opposite her husband Karan Singh Grover. Her last project was Vikram Bhatt’s web series Dangerous last year.
