Needless to say, Saif Ali Khan has hurt the sentiments of many by passing statements on the history of India. Talking about Saif’s comment, in the interview, talking about his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior based on  17th-century Maharashtrian military leader Tanhaji Malusare, the actor said, “I don't think this is history. I don't think there was a concept of India till the British gave it one."
