channel Republic, among the first few calls which Boney Kapoor made after
finding his wife dead at the hotel room 2201 of Jumeirah Emirates Towers

friend, Amar Singh.

Reportedly, it
was post midnight, around 12:40
am on February 25, and Amar Singh was fast asleep.
Boney made
repetitive attempts to reach out to his friend on his mobile phone but since it
was on silent mode, Amar Singh failed to receive his calls. After frantically
calling for a lot of times, Boney finally called on his landline number at his
Delhi residence.

finally picked up Boney’s call only to hear one of the most disturbing news of
his life.

In a very hoarse
voice and almost breathless, Boney said, “Bhabhi is no more”.
It was among the
first phone calls Boney had made to tell friends and family that Sridevi was
dead.

“I think
Boney made the first call to me that night”, Amar Singh told the leading news
channel.
When asked what
else did the two talk in that call, Amar Singh told the news channel,
“There was no scope to talk further at all. That was the kind of situation it
was.”

Interestingly, Boney Kapoor and Amar Singh had both been to Lucknow a day earlier to
attend a UP Investor’s Summit.
“I came back and
boycotted the investors’ summit because they insulted me by giving me no seat
or making any arrangements” said Amar Singh, adding that “Boney went back to
Dubai to be with Sridevi”
“It’s a terrible
situation. I have no words to express what I feel. One day we were all together
dancing at a wedding and now this news comes in.” Amar Singh added, “Sridevi
was doing very well. Their films were doing very well. They had no loans and
had cleared all their outstandings. What has happened is just tragic.”
