Directed by Kamal Chandra, Boondi Raita stars Himansh Kohli, Sonnalli Seygall, Ravi Kishan, Alka Amin, Ishlin Prasad, Rajesh Sharma, Neeraj Sood, Naresh Vohra, Vishisht Chamoli and Kuna Kuldeep. And now, as per reports, Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde and Bengali actress Darshana Banik have joined the star cast of the upcoming family drama. Yes, you read it right!
Shilpa Shinde will be seen playing the role of Himansh Kohli's elder sister. Talking about the film, Shilpa said, "It's a light-hearted family drama. The film is not entirely focused on one or two particular characters." She further added that she plays Himansh's elder sister who supports her brother because he doesn't get along well with father in the film. She further described her character as positive, simple and sober. "I have a silent kind of romantic relationship with Ravi Kishan in the film, and we are going to shoot the film in a beautiful city like Dehradun," she added.
Darshana Banik, on the other hand, said, "When I heard the story of the film, I found it interesting. I play Bobby, a bubbly and middle-class Punjabi girl. I am Bengali, so it's going to be an interesting experience to play a Punjabi character for the very first time in my career."
The actress further revealed that she has already started preparing for her character in terms of 'body language and diction'. Calling it a slice of film, Darshana added 'I think it is not easy to pull off comedy scenes as other scenes."
