India’s second moon mission Chandrayaan-2 was launched successfully sometime back and here's a look at how celebrities from various fields reacted to the launch

India’s second moon mission Chandrayaan 2 that seeks to explore the unchartered lunar south pole has just been launched at 2:43 pm IST and it is a big moment for our nation. It has been launched on board its most powerful rocket GSLV-Mk0III-M1 from Sriharikota, a week after its previous launch was aborted due to a last-minute technical glitch which was corrected by the scientists. With this launch, India has stepped up the space race and has become only the fourth country to land a probe on the moon. 

With such a huge event happening in the nation, not just B-Town celebrities but personalities from politics to sports, all took to social media to react to the successful launch. R Madhavan, Renuka Shahane, Nimrat Kaur, Vivek Oberoi, etc. are some of the few celebrities who took to Twitter to congratulate ISRO for the successful take- off. The ISRO scientists had earlier aborted the launch on July 15 with 56 minutes left for the countdown. After taking remedial action, the launch was rescheduled for today and was successfully launched from the second launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre here, over 100 km from Chennai.

With this launch, the ISRO has come a long way and is a tribute to its founder Dr Vikram Sarabhai and is a step ahead towards finding solutions in the field of communication, meteorology and education.
