Deepika Padukone was last seen on the big screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmaavat co-starring Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, back in 2018. After that, she had a special appearance in Aanand L Rai’s Zero starring Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan. However, it has now been 2 long years since fans of Deepika have seen her in a film, which is one of the reasons why there is so much excitement around her upcoming film Chhapaak, directed by Meghna Gulzar. The first look of Deepika as an acid attack survivor was revealed a while ago, and that only amped up fans’ excitement.

With so much hype and buzz around the film, it is pretty obvious that fans cannot wait to watch the trailer. And now, according to a report in DNA, the trailer of Chhapaak will release in the first week of December, which is just one month before the release of the film. The film is based on the true story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The actress plays a character named Malti and will be seen sporting prosthetics to get the bang on look. Deepika Padukone’s upcoming film Chhapaak also stars Vikrant Massey as the male lead star and the film will hit the theatres on January 10, 2020. Chhapaak will see a clash with Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Deepika will also be seen along with Ranveer Singh in Kabir Khan’s ’83, in which she plays the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia.
