Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Chhichhore directed by Nitesh Tiwari opened in the theatres this Friday. Critics gave a thumbs up to the film that also has Varun Sharma and many others playing pivotal roles. However, the good reviews did not entice the audiences much and the film didn't pull a great amount of footfall on day one. As per Box Office India, Chhichhore did a Rs 7 crore business on its first day.
As per reports, the film has done fine in metro cities and multiplexes. But blame it on rains or what, not many appeared in single screens to watch the film. However, considering the low-budget of the film, Sushant and Shraddha's film has done average on day 1. The numbers are equivalent to Sushant's last release Kedarnath's first-day collection. But for Shraddha, her last film was Saaho with Prabhas, and of course, the numbers are nowhere near its collection. Prabhas' stardom did wonders for Saaho despite critics giving it a negative review.
Now, the test is what happens over the weekend. Chhichhore has one week to mint money as on September 13, Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha's Dream Girl will release. It will pose a real threat to Sushant and Shraddha's Chhichhore considering Ayushamann's fan following post his National Award Win. Dream Girl directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa has Ayushmann being Lokesh as well as Pooja, a man who gets everyone to fall in love with him by talking in a female's voice over the phone.
