Ace choreographer Shiamak Davar's mother Puran Davar passed away on Thursday (September 23) morning, multiple reports have said. An India Today report mentioned that she was 99-years-old and had not been keeping well for some time. Shiamak Davar shared a close bond with his mom.
Sharing a photo of Shiamak Davar and his mother, a paparazzo wrote on Instagram, "Mrs Puran N Davar, Shiamak Davar's mother who was 99 years old passed away today early this morning due to ill health! Condolences to #shiamakdavar and his family. #RIP (sic)." Several celebrities and fans took to social media to offer their condolences.
Shiamak is one of the most popular choreographers in Bollywood. He is celebrated not just in India, but around the world and is noted as one of the first to bring contemporary jazz and western forms of dance to India. The 59-year-old is often hailed as the ‘guru of contemporary dance’. He is known for choreographing many iconic Hindi films - Taal, Kisna, Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom 2, I See You, Taare Zameen Par, Yuvvraaj, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Jagga Jasoos.
