Chunky Panday On Daughter Ananya Panday Dating Aditya Roy Kapur: ‘If She Was 14-Years-Old, I Could Interfere’
Chunky Panday opens up about his daughter Ananya Panday’s relationship with actor Aditya Roy Kapur and expresses how she is free to do what she wants
Bollywood actor Chunky Panday has been in the Hindi film industry for quite some time now. Over the years, he has made a name for himself with her comic timings and jockster personality. His daughter Ananya Panday, who made her debut with Student Of The Year 2, is still finding a footing in the industry. Having raked in praises for her last release Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, she has been making headlines for her rumoured relationship with Aditya Roy Kapur.
While the actors are yet to officially confirm their relationship, Chunky recently opened up about his daughter’s love life. In an interview with Lehren, she heaped praises on Ananya for working towards her career and making a name for herself without anyone’s help. While talking about how he isn’t worried about his daughters Ananya and Rysa but is for their respective partners, he shared his thoughts on his elder daughter’s relationship with the Aashiqui 2 actor. The 61-year-old actor stated that he is fine with it and doesn’t feel the need to interfere. Quoted by Bollywood Shaadis, he shared, “I mean it’s fine. I mean, she is 25. She is earning more money than I am right now. So she is free to do what she wants to. How dare I tell her, my 25-year-old daughter, that you have a boyfriend? In the same interview, he went on to recall that one of his proudest moments was when Ananya bagged her first film. Despite the makers finding her a little young, she went for the audition and bagged the role. He further explained, “She also got into New York and LA colleges, there was pressure on family. I kept her college admission for 6 months, I paid some $500 dollars and kept it, because who knows, it might not have worked out. So that was a proud moment, she got that film on her own.”
On the work front, Ananya Panday was last seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, co-starring Siddhanth Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav. Directed by debutant Arjun Varain Singh, the movie follows the journey of Imaad, Ahana, and Neil as they navigate through life, their relationships, and social media. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix. She has Call Me Bae in her pipeline.
