Chunky Panday’s daughter Ananya Panday, who made her debut with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year 2, which also stars Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria. While Ananya was applauded for her acting chops in Punit Malhotra’s directorial, the actress has been making waves with her new app So Positive. Chunky Panday who’s a proud father spoke candidly about her daughter where he said, he was wild and his daughter is nothing compared to him.

Speaking to Mumbair Mirror, when Chunky was asked that social media has revolutionised the concept of fan interaction replying to which he said, “Back in the ’80s-’90s, we’d do stage shows, the only way we could witness public reaction. Now, everyone has become a critic. I am used to it now and I am trying to teach the same to my daughter (Ananya); at their age bullying is rampant. Ananya had been a part of the industry socially but to work in it is a different ballgame altogether. That said, Bhavana (wife) has brought her up well and she’s equipped to be a good employee.”

During a recent interview, Ananya had said that she tries to “behave like a normal teenager”. When Chunky was asked about his own wonder years and he told Mirror, “I was wild; my daughter is nothing compared to me. I had a lot of wrong pressures on me. Being the son of two doctors, I was expected to become one too.” He also added, “I’d see her return home depressed sometimes but I let her be. When I saw the film’s trial show, I was sure she would make it,” he smiles.

Talking about her new app, So Positive is an original cause taken up by the actress, which is backed with substantial data, research, and behavioural statistics. The initiative aims at creating and spreading awareness about social media bullying. The initiative’s prime focus is to make people aware of the fact that this issue exists and stays very prevalent in society. Also, the steps that can be taken by the recipients of this destructive criticism in order to deal with this.
